The Driving Centre: Four Wheel Drive Course

This unique, one day program provides a balance of both on and off road techniques for four wheel drive vehicle drivers. Designed as an introduction to off road motoring the course aims to improve the understanding of on and off road vehicle characteristics in a range of driving conditions.

Various activities are set throughout the day, to enable participants to refine and develop their skills. Activities Include:-

• Vehicle dynamics
• Cornering lines
• Controlled relaxation
• Observation exercises
• Skid Pan - Non ABS braking
• Lane change exercises
• Low range ascent and descent
• Wheel printing
• Obstacle awareness
• Path planning
• Vehicle recovery
• General technique
• Environmental awareness
• Instructor to student ratio = 1:2

Participants are encouraged to use their own vehicles, however the centre can supply a limited number of Holden four wheel drives from its own fleet.

The circuit, skid pan and the introductory off road circuit are located on site.
