DriveSafe Course

The Driving Centre's ‘DriveSafe’ course provides participants with in-depth training in the art of driving a car. The aim of this program is to provide each participant with a solid grounding in the Driving Technique.

Following registration, guests can relax in the lounge and enjoy some light refreshments before the starting the program.

The course begins in the auditorium with a 30 minute briefing and an overview of prescribed technique. This is followed by an introduction to their personal instructors before moving to the forecourt to start the circuit training.

During circuit activities, the driving technique is covered in detail and each participant has practice time to develop and refine their skills.

Technique Training Includes:-

• Driver posture and stability
• General road issues
• Control techniques e.g. steering
• Safety zones
• Information intake
• Controlled relaxation
• Cornering paths
• Instructor to student ratio = 1:3

These points are continually reinforced during the program through individual instruction provided by the Centre's trainers.

Each car is allocated a specific skid pan time on the turntable and ABS braking on the centre's wet road facility is then integrated into the balance of the circuit activities.

Training concludes with an overview on correct following distances and braking physics.

Guests then return to the auditorium for the closing presentation.
