Do we cater for new drivers?

Yes
Our driving courses are designed to improve driver safety and awareness at all levels from beginners to advanced, however, to get the most out of our driver training courses participants should have a sound knowledge in the basic operation of a motor vehicle.

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes
You must be 10 years of age or older to participate in Hot Laps.
You must hold a minimum of a Learners License to participate in any HPDC Driver Training Course.

Can we get a gift certificate?

Yes
The HPDC has gift certificates available for all of the activities at the centre. They are valid for 6 months and can be purchased over the phone, by post or by email.

Can we use our own car?

Vehicles are provided for all courses with exception of the 4WD Course, where your own vehicle can be used.

What type of vehicles are provided?

Level 1 Course – Holden Omega – Automatic
Level 2 Course – Holden Omega – Automatic
Level 3 Course – Holden SS – Manual

How fast are you allowed to go?

You will start off at a safe training speed and throughout the duration of the course you will gradually increase speeds to equal what is permitted on public roads.

Do we cater for motorcyclists?

Whilst the centre has held motorcycle activities in the past, the facility is currently not available for motorcycle events or training.

What happens if you have an accident?

It is highly unlikely that there would be an accident because the centre is a controlled environment and there is an instructor in the vehicle with you ninety percent of the time.

Has there ever been an accident at the centre during a driver training course?

Since 1990 when the facility opened there have been no accidents during driver training courses.

Are driver training courses cancelled when it rains?

Just like on the road we do not have the luxury of controlling the weather, driving courses are still conducted in wet conditions and if by some chance due to extreme weather conditions we need to cancel a course you will be contacted as soon as possible.

Please be aware that vouchers are valid for (6) six months from date of issue and will not be honoured after that time without prior arrangements. Vouchers MUST be presented at time of redemption.
Neither the beneficiary of this voucher nor the purchaser shall be entitled to a refund in the event of a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice or upon failure to attend. Vouchers are non-refundable, refunds under special circumstances are entirely at the discretion of the Manager and if given, may be subject to an administration fee of 15% of the gift certificate value.
Vouchers are transferable and can be upgraded, they CANNOT be replaced so please keep your voucher in a safe place.

All participants are required to be wearing closed in footwear for safety reasons.
