HOLDEN PERFORMANCE DRIVING CENTRE

Located amongst the picturesque sugar cane fields at Norwell midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the HPDC is an $8 million facility that is purpose built to provide an ideal and safe environment for guests to enhance their driving ability.

Our facilities include, a 2km training circuit, skid pan, full fleet of training vehicles consisting of a variety of the latest Holden models, an off road four wheel drive training course, conference room and onsite catering. In addition to this, the centre features one of the only mechanical Turn Tables in the Southern Hemisphere, which is used to simulate oversteer.

Several multi-national companies have joined with the Holden Performance Driving Centre to provide the highest level of corporate support for a facility of this kind. These companies include Holden as the Centre’s major sponsor and vehicle provider.

Part of the centre’s unique appeal is that it offers much more than just Driver Training. Guests can strap themselves in for 4 exhilarating Hot Laps in a V8 SS Commodore and with the new edition of the V8 Super School, can now get behind the wheel themselves. While at the centre guests can also get a behind the scenes look at the Holden V8 Race Team and the high-octane world of V8 Supercars with packages including a visit to the Motorsport Gallery and the Paul Morris Motorsports “Sirromet Wines V8 Supercar Team”.

The Holden Performance Driving Centre is committed to improving the safety of everyone on the road. With this in mind, a range of Driver Training Programs for both individual and corporate guests are available. The convention and incentive market is also catered for with a number of corporate packages, which can be tailored to suit every event.

Corporations and the general public are becoming more and more aware of the need to be equipped with an effective driving technique. Operation of the modern day car occurs in an extremely volatile environment and can prove to be detrimental if the driver lacks experience and a proficient driving technique.

Generally once a person receives their drivers license, they have inherited the knowledge of road rules and the basics of moving a car from point A to point B. This represents only the bare minimum of what is required for safe driving. A majority of drivers have little knowledge of the dynamic forces that act upon a motor vehicle when a crisis arises.

It is a readily accepted phenomenon that a good technique is a prerequisite for success in any activity that is undertaken i.e. sport, music, art etc. With this consideration, one must say that the starting point towards road safety is for a driver to learn the best driving technique. This driving technique must be learnt in conjunction with a complete knowledge of the road rules and adoption of a socially acceptable attitude.

The Holden Performance Driving Centre offers all this and much more. The facility is unique and provides every visitor with a truly memorable motoring experience. Above all it remains ‘The’ place for those looking to master the art of technically better driving.
