LEVEL TWO COURSE
The Level Two Course conducted at the Holden Performance Driving Centre combines all of the elements of the Level One Course with the addition of more specific hands-on exercises and the progression to skid control and prevention. The Level Two Course has very specifically planned and balanced objectives aimed at optimizing the learning process and introducing skid control in the most beneficial way.
Following their registration, guests can relax in the lounge and enjoy some light refreshments prior to the commencement of the program. The course commences with a 45 minute drivers briefing and technique overview in the auditorium. This is followed by an introduction to their personal instructors prior to moving to the forecourt to commence the circuit training.
During the circuit activities, the driving technique is covered in detail and each participant has practice time to refine and develop their skills. Technique Training Includes:-

These points are continually enhanced throughout the entire program by the individual instruction provided by the Centres experienced trainers.
Each car is allocated a specific skid pan time to address non ABS braking and the Brush and Bury Technique as well as basic vehicle dynamics.
Following this exercise guests return to the circuit to continue their development of the technique as well as ABS and emergency braking. Day One concludes with a demonstration on correct following distances and a closing presentation followed by lunch.
Day Two kicks off with a second drivers briefing covering issues such as skid control and avoidance techniques. Guests are advised what causes oversteer and understeer, and how, by using their technique, to avoid such situations.
Circuit training commences, this time in an anti-clockwise direction and includes the revision of issues covered on Day One. Basic technique is refined and developed with each student during the morning.
Skid Pan training addresses understeer control and prevention, again, each car is allocated a specific time for this activity.
Circuit training resumes with continued development of the technique with the introduction of braking exercises. This segment covers emergency braking over a range of speeds as well as ABS braking. All the training cars then assemble on the straight for an evasive lane change and recovery exercise.
This is followed by oversteer training using the Centres unique Slide Simulator the Turntable. Unique to the Holden Performance Driving Centre, this device simulates the loss of control experienced in a rear end skid.
Guests then return to the auditorium for the closing presentation followed by lunch.
The course runs for two consecutive half days, commencing at 8.30am and concluding at 2.00pm.
